The Artist...
Former actress and model Cehlia Newman-Menendez has been writing and creating artwork in various forms, as long as she can remember. Her first poems were written at the age of five, and her first artwork was created at the age of three. This dynamic Baha'i, writer and artist, is also the mother of three children under the age of ten.
Newman-Menendez has been married to her husband, Texas State Representative, Jose Menendez, for the past thirteen years. The couple's political activity has given, the artist, a chance to expand her interests and help others in ways she never thought possible. Cehlia has served on numerous community and hospital boards and is proud to have contributed to San Antonio's cultural and social society in a positive way.
Born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in the late sixties; Newman-Menendez feels very strongly that her artwork is influenced, both by the very first culture to which she was introduced, and her deep spiritual love for the Baha'i Faith.
With a flair for the dramatic and a love of all things creative and unique, Cehlia continues to explore new avenues with which to express her creativity.
Newman-Menendez devotes much of her time to her children, any time left is divided between the various important causes close to her heart;
